(supervan wrote): "Is this sustainable?" ---- Only if the DNR and MN tourism cheerleaders can find a way to remove smart phones, playstations, etc from kids. Oh, and watching paint dry. Sorry but what passed for a great time between father and son fifty years ago has changed. Today's childrearing fathers in their 30's and 40's play video games as much as their kids do. That is the new bonding experience.

The interactive map shows the locations where the fish were stocked? Is there a way to tell what size and what type of fish were stocked in each pond? Or did we all just want to hear about one small pond in Brooklyn Park?

If would be far more efficient just to give the kids a bag of fillets.

"Sorry but what passed for a great time between father and son fifty years ago has changed" *** What is even sadder is that for most of these kids, having a father around at all is a foreign concept.

I don't understand all of the negative comments. It is minimal resources used to provide fun times for kids, not to mention a meal for the family. Go with sometime with one of these fishing events for kids, watch a kid catch a fish, and then tell that kid he is wasting his time, that he should be playing video games, or we should just hand him fish fillets as some of the comments suggest. I support the DNR in this effort.
