I agree. Why is his truck any different than anybody elses truck? That means a dynamite truck could roll through but not a sand truck? Please!

This is how businesses can circumvent the local rules for their own gain, and to the detriment of the local community. That is how gas and oil companies can work around EPA rules on ground water pollution to pump toxic sludge into the ground to extract hydrocarbons to be burned into the air for us to breathe. Get ready for more stories like this to surface around the state as the companies start pushing their paid elected officials to do their bidding, for the sake of 'job growth'.

If he was hauling gravel the enviro's wouldn't care. It's only because the sand is used in a process they disagree with. What the enviro's don't realize is that markets are efficient and the users of this sand will find another source (outside the state or country) for the necessary raw material.

Same area of the paper there is a battle because ND is taking companies away from MN because of their low taxes and booming economy. ND is making a FORTUNE off their deposits. In MN, we can't even allow people to mine SAND! Face it, we could have half the worlds supply of oil under MN, and the progressives would insist we not touch it. Pathetic.
