Minnehaha Creek goes native in Edina

Homeowners helped pick plants that improve water quality and wildlife habitat along the creek.

This is another example of wasting tax payer dollars. If you can afford to live on this section of creek, then you can afford to take care of the creek. At what point do you plant the creekside in the manner best for the long term health of the creek? Why must EVERYTHING be subsidized by every resident of the county. I believe this would better be done as an assessment since the homeowner ultimately benefits. When will we ever lose our thirst for everyone else's money?

Calm down, only those who live in the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District pay a tax to the watershed. Not every member of Hennepin County. And we all benefit from cleaner water, not just the homeowner. I could think of a lot worse things to spend tax money on. This isn't one of them.
