WASHINGTON — Unemployment rates rose in two-thirds of U.S. cities in May, as steady hiring encouraged more of those out of work to look for jobs.

I find it comical when unemployment rates drop the story is reported as the economy is picking up and hiring is steady. When unemployment rises in 30 states its because more people are looking for work.

The AP hasn't met a story yet that it can't twist into positive news about the economy. More layoffs in manufacturing means better factory output or some garbage like that.

What happens to the unemployment rate when the US congress passes an immigration bill, legalizes 12Million fraudulently documented workers and then imports another 33Million cheap foreign workers on expended visa programs over the next decade?

The government doesn't count people as unemployed unless they are looking for jobs. So those still collecting unemployment, living off foodstamps/public housing or just hooking/selling drugs aren't being counted at all!

If every able bodied man/woman and teen that was undemployed got off thier but and started looking for work I bet the the government would be mighy surprised to find that the real unemployment rate is more like 22%.

Just how stupid does team Obama and the media think we are? Well, I'd say pretty stupid considering this disaster got himself re-elected thanks to the masses of uneducated, freebie receiving culture that they have groomed. Hey, thing's are tailspinning out of control; Let's have a party!!!!!! Riddle me this. In April, Minnesota "shed" 11,500 jobs and our unemployment rate went down. Now, we have lost jobs, and the national unemployment rate went up. You media apologists just make things up as you go, and most of the time, you contradict yourselves. It would be entertaining if it wasn't so pathetic.
