Hiring military paper pushers after the fact isn't going to make this all of the sudden work. I really wonder how this company was able to get a 20.5 BILLION dollar contract. I am a beneficiary and don't think for a minute they all of the sudden had "unexpectedly large caseload", they were never in a position to handle this and never should have been awarded the contract.

"emergency measures imposed on UnitedHealthcare because of missteps in the administration of a contract that provides health care to military members, veterans and their families"...to everyone who berates "government-run health care," this is a private conmpany!

RE identify - so what is the solution? What make them incapable of handling this? Is it biased opinion or a fact based?

Another example of what 30 years of privatizing services that should be done by the government has done. It costs more for these private companies and contractors to do these jobs than it would for governments employees to do the same thing.

UHG makes money in spite of themselves. They are one of the most inefficient organizations I have ever worked for. If the shareholders knew how much money they could be making, there would be a revolt. Pity the US serviceperson that needs to rely on insurance.
