Obama will be taking notes on how well American weapons perform when crushing popular uprisings.

We supported this guy. Why Obama's admin didn't vet them more is beyond me. The Muslim Brotherhood is known to have ties with AQ. We did the same with Syria.

The whole Obama approach to the mideast has been to support muslim rebels whose stated goal was to impose sharia law on the citizens. This has been a disaster for non-muslims and women in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt. And in Syria, the rebels have already stated that non-muslims will not be allowed to hold high level govt positions. Ironically, if the military takes over in Egypt, civil rights will actually improve.

The middle east conflict is not about governments getting along or about democracy versus forms of dictatorship. It is about religion and oil. And even deeper, it's about sub-groups in a religion. Guess what? Religions will NEVER compromise or work together. You can have all of the Camp David peace accords, it ain't gonna matter. Governments will make "deals" to get along, to get the "least of the evils". Religions won't. Nothing short of a huge nuclear holocaust of the region will solve anything. And when the region would become inhabitable again, it will all just start over again. There is only one solution for the USA. End our oil dependence one way or another. Then we can let them fight themselves. They will NEVER listen to us or give in to our efforts to stabilize the region. Anyone who thinks that they will ever see eye-to-eye with us just isn't doing their homework. We can keep going in and trying to prop up a government, but it will NEVER accomplish anything more than a dog chasing its tail, catching it, sitting down, releasing it and starts chasing it again.

love the comment about Pres Obama not properly vetting "the guy"! The "military industrial complex" is just happy to keep our nose and weapons moving into troubled areas> It generates lots of sales. It is time for our to start to focus on "our needs"!! The middle east is and will continue to be a real mess for many of the reasons already stated!!
