Reusse's town ball columns are almost always his best, well done Pat!

93-94 mhp fastball? Looks like Andy's got some work to do? Going to have to trim about 5-6 mph off that fastball and get him to pitch-to contact?

Dantes929Jun. 29, 1310:36 PM

"Going to have to trim about 5-6 mph off that fastball and get him to pitch-to contact?" Give it a rest. Gibson only had 5 strikeouts so 20 of the 25 guys he faced put the ball in play. Pitch to contact is embraced by the Giants as well. They have just done it better. Keep throwing ground balls. Sometimes they get through in bunches but it is still a good thing.

He should be an excellent number three starter, or a pretty good number two. Still have a ways to go with figuring out the starting rotation, but he is a very important piece.

two phrases that I wish would go the way of the trash can..."punch and judy hitters" "pitch to contact"...enough already so sick of it...give it a death not a rest...just bury it once and for all...that's not how they manage.

lindy_ you forgot the Twins Way, sorry but these sad trade marks will continue and they are engrained and part of the "Twins Way".

Kyle looks like he has a chance to be very good. It's nice to see a Twin's starter who isn't afraid to challenge a hitter with a good fastball. I liked the fact the kid wasn't afraid to shake off Mauer. He knows what he wants to throw.

A nice changeup to go with a 93 mph fastball with movement? Wow. Again, why wasn't this guy here last year?

callsaulJun. 30, 13 9:59 AM

You people can try to deny it all you want but Gardenhire and Anderson do not make players better. They get them and then mold them into crappy utility players and pitchers who only get strike outs by accident. Let me think back wasn't Gardenhire a crappy utility player? Wasn't Anderson a pitcher who couldn't strike out batters? Hmmm. Those who cannot do teach others to be marginal at something!
