Dozens arrested at gay pride rally in Russia as activists clash with nationalists

MOSCOW — Russian police arrested several gay rights activists and Russian nationalists who confronted them at a rally Saturday that was declared illegal under a new law against "gay propaganda."

Too bad about Russia. I used to think a person's sexuality was a given, but these pride rallies have taught me that even though I had no hand in my orientation, I should have pride in it just the same. Anybody know of any hetero rallies around town this weekend so I can go & be proud?

Seeing we heteros have all rights to marry anyone we want, I think every day is for us. Maybe some day we won't have to have gay pride parades when their rights are just as equal as ours. Straight but not narrow....

Some of our tough gay right activists who throw glitter on people that they don't like should try their act in Russia.
