Seven DFLers and one Republican are targeting a special election to replace Ward 1’s Melvin Carter III, who is leaving the council in July.

I live in the district and really wish a moderate would step up and run. Someone that will look out for the people that actually pay taxes and stop putting up low income housing along the LRT and give the market time to grow the tax base with new non subsidized businesses and market rate housing

Very good article, I own properties there, and of course the City has gone after me, like a crazy dog. Howard looks like a good follow up to disastrous Carter, I spoke with Dai, he seems a decent guy.

I hope that we can get a candidate who will choose to represent the interests of the citizens when they are in conflict with the interests of the public employee unions.

Interesting seems as if not one of these people can hold a job in the private sector. Community Organizer, state employee, police commander, community non-profits, employee of county commissioner. Where are the people that hold down a job in the real world private sector. Oh yeah, working.
