Thank you, John Rash, for providing a counter-perspective to the commentary "Struggling to come to terms with war's horrors " which contains this statement: "[W]ar dehumanizes people — the victims and the victimizers." Your commentary shows that the creative arts have the opposite effect: The creative arts humanize people—spectators and artists alike—at a smaller cost and with a higher return on investment.

Does the $700 million per year that nourishes the local economy "of Minneapolis" not include St. Paul's contributions or does that amount refer to the metro area (both cities)? I would such a study should look at us as a metropolitan unit.
