Hospitals moving to high-tech ways to ensure employees keep their hands clean

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Hospitals have fretted for years over how to make sure doctors, nurses and staff keep their hands clean, but with only limited success. Now, some are turning to technology — beepers, buzzers, lights and tracking systems that remind workers to sanitize, and chart those who don't.

This is scary! If doctors and nurses have to be reminded to wash their hands they should be fired. What kind of facility would employ a nasty doctor or nurse? The violators should have their names published so their patients know who they are. This is pitiful!
