I thought Love was going to have something to say about this draft, if only from far away. Being from UCLA may have earned a yes from Love for Shabazz. Piling on a couple two, three from the same school/country seems to be the Wolves modus operandi, their ordinary course.

The negativity that surrounds this forum is thick.Every once in awhile someone says something positive and they are quickly stomped on with a dislike....

@eba75: I guess if you consider going 6-18 overall (including 0-6 from 3 pt range), 8-10 from the line, and scoring 15 of those 20 points after the score was 37-27 in favor of the Gophs NOT being shut down, then we indeed have differing definitions.

Excellent draft, and a great job by Sunders-6.5 SG and a scorer with upward potentials and a solid shot blocker; it cannot get any better. I know some of you wanna dwell on alleged character questions; but ya all need to step back and take a deep breath, and realize one important harsh reality; we are not in business of drafting Pope or Martha Theresa; we are in drafting a player first and foremost who can score-and this Mohammad guy can let it fly and Deng can protect the rim; what else can you ask for? Forget that Kahn man and his circus like drafts that saddled us with 5 mediocre PGs. This new day and new era, just sit back fasten ya seat belts and enjoy da ride!

The problem with taking a PG is that we have 5 on the roster. You cannot snap your fingers and find homes for JJ, Luke, etc. You cannot cut them without it affecting your cap. The Wolves tried desperately to move up, but it was not happening so they made the best of it and picked a talented kid that just needs to grow up. He might be the next Sprewell or the next McCants. That's up to him.

Jake08 - what are you talking about? 99% of the fans LOVED the Ricky Rubio pick at the time. If I remember correctly the fans were upset the Timberwolves drafted THREE point guards within the first 18 picks in the 2009 Draft? Granted the third selection (Ty Lawson was traded). I personally like Flip, but he really need to be more proactive when Noel and McLemore slipped. Just standing pat and HOPING one of them would fall blew up in the face.

Turkey - Yes. They show the draft lottery during the playoffs.

How did we end up a #9? Did I miss the video showing the how they did that?

Interesting how there are several posts from people who don't like the NBA and the team. What's the point? Not much to do I guess.

Check out bleacherreports’ grade of the Wolves draft. It’s surprisingly positive. A few bright spots to consider - considering, as posted above - all the guys we wanted were gone. And we weren’t going to keep a 5th PG.
