Red panda goes missing from enclosure at DC's National Zoo, found in nearby neighborhood

WASHINGTON — A Twitter photo and phone tip from a resident helped animal keepers track down a red panda in a Washington neighborhood Monday after it went missing from the Smithsonian's National Zoo.

The National Zoo is reporting on FaceBook that Rusty has been found, captured and crated for return to his zoo habitat.

Red Pandas? I guess not everything is black and white... No one will ever mistake this species for a bear. They kind of look like racoons. Very cool animal.
