An inmate at Stillwater prison died after being involved in “an incident,” a state official said Saturday.

I have no idea what happened, but I really hope someone doesn't try to profit from this by suing the state or the prison.

Stillwater is not a "minimum custody facility." It has a small minimum unit, but is considered close custody (one step below maximum).

steveji you have no idea what happened and what concerns you is if someone "profits"? You show great compassion (not). I would be satisfied as long as justice is served. If someone at Stillwater made an error and it cost someone their life then pay up they should.

It simply amazes me that sjhuot got a down vote for pointing out a valid fact. Per the DOC website, Stillwater is a level 4 facility with about 100 inmates in the minimum area and 1500 in the closed area.

I also will point out in terms of people being sued or not sued, this article has essentially indicated nothing apart from an incident took place, staff were not hurt, and an inmate died. Lets wait until the Tribune can put more of a story together than this bare bones version of events.
