INTERACTIVE: Airport errors from fiscal year 2007 to early 2012

The control tower at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport committed more errors than half the airports with heavier plane traffic, but the reasons may deal more with runways than controllers.Unlike some larger airports, MSP’s heavy reliance on two major runways can increase the complexity of controlling takeoffs and landings. Hemmed in by the Minnesota River, freeways and homes, the airport lacks space to build more runways.
