Cuba, US take cautious steps toward rapprochement, but long, complicated path lies ahead

HAVANA — They've hardly become allies, but Cuba and the U.S. have taken some baby steps toward rapprochement in recent weeks that have people on this island and in Washington wondering if a breakthrough in relations could be just over the horizon.

This embargo we have against Cuba is useless and ill-conceived. The ONLY way to beat Communism into submission is to introduce them to Capitalism. Their government would crumble if we flooded their markets with our goods. Besides, I would like to smoke a few Cuban cigars before my family plants me in the good earth.

What a stupid embardo this is. No embargo for China, but we continue to pick on Cuba. When will our politicians grow some gonads and do what is right and what was right many years ago. What a stupid policy. You would think Hope and Change would do something, but no, it's the same old crap.
