BRASILIA, Brazil — Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff ended her near-silence about days of massive, violent protests, saying in a prime-time TV broadcast Friday that peaceful demonstrations were part of a strong democracy but that violence could not be tolerated. She promised to improve public services and hold a dialogue with protest leaders.

And back here our republican party has realized they've run out of other people's money for their tax cuts for the rich and their wars.

I think this is the nature of Global Capitalism, which produces a society with a growing divide between high income and low income. Those with capital(ie: investments) are rewarded with more capital (ie: profits), while labor wages are driven ever lower by global labor competition. And advances in technology drive ever increasing productivity, which means less labor needed to produce the same products... Less jobs for labor.. Eventually, wages rise for those with the in-demand skills, and fall for unskilled labor. And in the midst of all of this, costs fall, which means profits rise for the corporations. So more and more money is funneled to a fewer and fewer number of people. And what do people who have no job, no income, and no prospects do? You see it happening. It is human nature.

There definitely needs to be a dialogue about closing the ever increasing income gap around the world, and it doesn't have to include 'socialism'.
