Yeah, because once the stadium is paid off the tax will definitely be retired. You know, because our elected officials could NEVER come up with some useless way to spend the tax going forward, could they?

The reason taxes are never retired is because the people we elect have sponsors to please.

Quite hilarious you posters are! You cry and scream when the Vikings Stadium method comes up short, and you cry and scream when the Twins payment method pays it off too quick. Just mad to be mad.

Sid; stop handing out roses to the Hennepin County Commissioners for retiring the Target Field debt earlier than planned. The only reason this is occurring is the mortgage was refinanced a much better interest rate. They left the payment amount the same therefore retiring the debt early. Sorry to break it to you, but the magnificent Hennepin County Commissioners have no control over international economic conditions that influence interest rates.

Co paid 260M plus 90M for infrastructure. They wrote a check? Paid cash? It's paid OFF. What mortgage is there? Oh I see, they borrowed ALL the money and are paying off the mortgage.

My kids went to high school with Mike Opat. As a kid he always handled himself well. I no longer live in Henn. Co. and am a Republican/Independent but I admire his work from a distance. He's not your typical politician. Good job Mike.

The Peoples' Baseball Stadium is a flop. Block E is in shambles and the Twins W-L record likewise. The new stadium was supposed to attract talent. That was a huge line of BS. As for the New Jersey Vikings, their project has failed the full 100%.

rshackleford, how is The People's Baseball stadium a flop exactly??? Seems pretty popular to me. You seem to have a lot of negative opinions.

If I remember correctly the Dome was paid of a lot sooner than expected to, as will Target Field and the new Vikings Stadium

So the county is taking more of your money than they originally promised, and they should be applauded for this?
