I am a Republican voter living in Zellers district. I agree with him on most everything. However, I could never support him after he permitted the Viking stadium thing to go through last year. He voted against it, yes, but he could have used his position of Speaker to not let it get to the floor in the first place, had he had the political courage to do so. I could not support him.

Good luck Kurt. We need some moderate, common sense leadership.

Zellers wants to run for Governor? Has he not seen the latest poll numbers of Gov. Dayton? When he was the Speaker of the House, his republican legislature endured the lowest poll numbers in MN history, somewhere around 11%. Now he wants to bring that to the Governorship? LOL!

Zellers is a poor GOP choice. Never had a real job outside government. Lost the House majority. What is it that these middle-aged white males smoke that makes them think they are qualified to be governor? Jeff Johnson, Kurt Zellers, maybe Dave Thompson. ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.

Kurt Zellers was the captain/quarterback of the 2012 MN Independent Republican team. He threw zero pass completions, had zero rushing yards and was intercepted 10 times. His team amassed record penalties, with the star player, Amy Koch, being thrown out of the game. At the end of the game, the strongest IR team in decades was shut out by a by the weakest DFL team in decades, lead by Mark Dayton!! The IR performance 2012 was so poor it spawned a mass exodus of IR house and senate members, along with lifetime IR members and supporters. He orchestrated the passing of the Vikings Stadium (even though he voted against it) by pressuring uncommitted IR members to vote for it, thereby saving his own virtue. I think Mark Dayton is a terrible Governor, but he'll get my vote if Zellers runs against him. (I had voted straight Republican for 40 years...until the last November)
