I'm really bummed as I loved reading his books and hearing Vince on local radio stations and book signings. I often told my wife, "Vince should run for office" Or I hope someday "Vince will consider doing his own talk radio show if he doesn't run for office". Quite a few will disagree with Vince's Politics, and that fine but, no one can ever question his sincerity and kind, humble nature. Vince had strong opinions and great insights but at the same time he was always polite and engaging. Such a major loss for Minnesota and the world!

His politics aside, Vince was a genuinely nice person. I spent some time with him at a literary event, and he was personable, humble, sincere, and genuinely amazed at his success. His family meant everything to him. It's so sad that he left so young, not just for his readers and fans, but for the people to whom Vince meant father, husband, and friend.
