Read this proposal but read it carefully. It is a heavy-handed power-grab by the notoriously wasteful MNSCU Central Office. Rosenstone apparently wants to be granted Czar-like powers. It takes power away from those who are closest to the students and most knowledgeable about the subject matter and puts all critical educational decisions in the hands of administrators who are out of touch with students and may never have worked in a classroom. One consequence will be to stifle creativity and innovation on campuses and force each college/university to be a cookie-cutter duplicate of each other. Further, the proposed merger of campuses will have a side-effect of replacing more qualified faculty with less qualified faculty. Read it. It is a very bad proposal.
