Mayors take victory lap over big bump in Minn. local government aid after years of squeezes

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Mayors from around Minnesota said Wednesday they'll be able to maintain their fire and police staffing, tackle backlogs of local road projects and pay down debt thanks to an $80 million bump in state aid to cities.

This is supposed to ease homeowners tax bills. Where the sam heck do you think the 80 million came from. It's tax dollars! No matter what you call it where it came from it's still money that our state Gvmt takes from us the people. Quit acting like your doing all of us this huge favor, all your doing is spending our money.

The key is what are we spending the money on? A brand spankin' new stadium for the Saints in St Paul was definitely a "nice to have". There is no such thing as free money whether from the fed or state. This is just politics and union payback.

The Righties sure have got their panties in a bunch over this. Just like they do when there is any good economic news nationally or at the state level. It's always party before country(or state) with these people. When the Dems are in power, that is.
