Summoning Berlin's history, Obama calls for bold action by US, Europe, including nuclear cuts

BERLIN — Summoning the harsh history of this once-divided city, President Barack Obama on Wednesday cautioned the U.S. and Europe against "complacency" brought on by peace, pledging to cut America's deployed nuclear weapons by one-third if Cold War foe Russia does the same.

Obama says NSA surveillance programs have saved lives, averted at least 50 terror threats ****************** Sure they have. In the days after the leaks, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers cited one attack that he said was thwarted by the programs. In the comments of other intelligence officials, that number grew to two, then 10, then dozens. On Tuesday, Alexander said more than 50 attacks were averted because of the surveillance. So, how many were thwarted? One? Ten? 50? Or will be become 500 within the next few days!

If this administration (or the previous one) had actually thwarted any terrorist strike they would publicized and propagandized it for all it was worth. This is nothing but an out of control federal government attempting to justify the destruction of our constitutional rights through lies and fear.

The ends do NOT justify the means! The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Now that the NSA over reaching surveillance has been leaked we will see mounting stories each day of how many lives, businesses and national security threats were averted. Team Obama and his media are easier to read then a 5 cent comic book.

For those of you NOW embracing this as fabulous here is a little trip down memory lane from the LA Times in 2009 - "Obama's counter-terrorism advisor denounces Bush-era policies John Brennan accuses the previous administration of promoting a 'global war' mind-set that served only to 'validate Al Qaeda's twisted worldview.' August 07, 2009|Greg Miller" - There is a population in this country that embraces corruption at the highest levels and denounced another President because he was open.

Team Obama makes all kinds of claims to justify their breaking of our Constitutional rights. But ask them to provide back up detail to support these claims and they will claim national security issues prevent them from providing the data. So how do the people know that they are really telling the truth and not just lying to cover up their wrong doing.
