I don't think the Vikings would have been doing something like this if Bishop hadn't been released. He was just too good of a player 2 years ago to not take a look at. Henderson would still be the better guy in pass coverage.

I am all for bringing in players that can make the Vikes better. Either as a starter, or for depth, if Bishop is healthy, and the Vikes can sign him for reasonable money, go for it. Watching him play a couple of seasons ago, I don't know if he truely is that 3 down MLB. He seemed more of a run stopper/blitzer than a coverage guy. That maybe because of the 3-4 system that he was in at Green Bay. I'm sure that the Vikes coaches will cover all the bases. I have been a fan of the off season moves so far, and I'm sure that Spielman has a good reason for bringing Bishop in for a look. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of us mortal humans just have no idea the level of competition these guys routinely live with. Imagine if you knew your boss was constantly and actively looking to replace you with someone just a little bit better, or younger or cheaper, than you. It is just a different world.

If Henderson was as good as HE thinks he is, there'd be no need to look for a MLB. Unfortunately, he's not...

Bishop was a slow LB in Green Bay and was there to stop the run only, he couldnt hang with TE's or RB's out of the backfield in the flat. This hammy injury surely didnt help matters related to speed, enjoy another player off the Packers scrap heap. What a bunch of dumpster divers the Vikings have turned out to be, dont they coach up players in MN?

I know if I was an opposing Quarterback, I'd be throwing wherever Henderson is. He CANNOT cover the pass.

Tabarnoosh - most of us won't know what it's like to get paid at least 400K per year just to sit on the sidelines and "stay ready". It's hard to feel sorry for any major pro sport athlete, regardless of the competition they deal with on a regular basis.

I like Henderson - just don't think he's starter material? Special teams - he was a stud

The starter will Michael Mauti by the end of the season. He is a natural third generation grad of Linebacker U who hits like a truck

I think Henderson is going to surprise some people. Nothing like a good helping of disrespect to motivate a MLB. #50 has my vote. I also think Audie Cole is not getting his fair share of credit. He looked like a stud last season...from what little we saw of him in the preseason.
