No surprise here. Bureaucrats always cut the piece that causes the biggest headlines: police, firefighters, teachers.

Keep 'cutting' the beast that is the Federal Government. Please note the cuts are really reductions in the rate of growth in many cases.

Articles like this are one of the causes of our poor financial state as a country. As soon as Congress acts to cut the budget of a program, the news trots out a bunch of sob stories of people who's lives will be affected. It makes trimming any social program political suicide. That being said, is trimming Head Start funding and Meals on Wheels going to be the thing that helps balance our budget? Or is it maybe closing all those corporate loopholes and tax breaks on millionaires who earn thier income from interest and investments the way to go? My bet is that the true answer lies somewhere in the middle, but our politicians are so polarized right now that compromise equals weakness, so we get this insead.

So it would seem I won't be impacted then. Now if only my income taxes would go down.

This is really getting old. There weren't any cuts, just reductions in the increases. We are spending more this year than last. Get a grip.

Dustin can collect unemployment so Im sure he will be fine with his time off. Also, he can take those days in a lump sum, so he can go on a nice vacation but keep up with the scare tactics.

It's good to know that the money cut from these programs is going to good causes, like arming Al-Qaida backed Syrian rebels. That's a lot more important.

Good to know that the money cut from these programs is going to Obama for his Africa trip and Europe vacations!
