In his first year, AD Norwood Teague has laid the groundwork for his vision of Gophers athletics.

Why is Norwood wearing a polo shirt with Iowa State colors?

After watching him pay $800,000 to bail on North Carolina so we can eat cupcake in the middle of the desert in New Mexico, I wouldn't give this guy two pennies to rub together for good luck.

They recouped nearly the entire 8000000 with the TCU deal. Get over it.

The man is doing a good job in a very challenging position. People in MN should try support for a change instead of negativism and cheap shots - eh "lowertaxes"?

As Joel Maturi's additional year as a consultant and Athletic Department fundraiser at 350K plus in salary and benefits comes to completion, it would sure be nice for someone to provide the public with an analysis as to the return on investment for that hire.

There has been absolutely zero ROI on Maturi since he was first hired. He truly should have been fired years ago . He set the U of M athletic department years . I pray that the new AD will get it turned around in my lifetime.

One of the best moves Teague made was dismissing Tubby Smith. He came here and basically left with the basketball program no better or very little better. When a coach pats himself on the back and says we were winning when 75% of his wins were against non- conference nobodys he needs to go. Under Smith the program would have hit rock bottom within 2 to 3 years. So good job Norwood!

NT doesn't seem to accept much responsibility. He states "We all wish we had hindsight ... 40 years of ineptitude..." Why not take responsibility for the decisions he made? We might be in trouble.

josh1983 The chicken money payment was wrong on a sports and teaching institution level. Lets have Norwood walk over to the opposition bench and offer their players a bribe to throw the game so the Gophers can assure a win. Do it during the basketball or football or hockey game on national tv. The bribe money will be recouped so it is ok, is that what you are saying josh1983?

With all the changes Teague has made, I'm still baffled why he ignores the dysfunctional women's basketball issues. Here's a once proud program that is now a joke to our high school coaches. A big supporter who is a friend of mine shared Teague's reply to her letter of concern and he basically tells her that he's taking care of women's basketball. Letting Borton continue to take the program down sure is a far stretch in taking care of it. There was hope when Tubby was let go because Borton graded out far worse on the criteria Teague said he used to fire him. Still Borton gets a raise. If heavy lifting means getting rid of Borton, then Mr. Teague you can call for a donation, not until then. Borton has caused too much damage.
