A Minneapolis couple dreaming of their own place and a slower pace won an eatery in an essay contest.

Get a grill top and a Fryolator and make Jucy Lucy's and fries, and you will be successful. If you don't know how, sit at the bar at Matt's at 35th & Cedar, and keep your eyes open.

Wonderful story! I wish them well. More towns and cities should use this approach. My home town is full of vacant storefronts. This has created cheap rents for main street pawn shops and off-beat churches. Neither are compatible with retail or restaurants.

This was a nice story to start my day. I hope that they are successful. Small town cafes are such a special gathering places across all of Minnesota.

This is my hometown and I am THRILLED! Pat & Woody Hansen raised their family and were staples of the community. SO glad to see another family take over!
