Caterpillar Inc. no longer giving money to Boy Scouts, cites ban on gay leaders

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Caterpillar Inc. is no longer giving money to the Boy Scouts because the organization discriminates against homosexuals, a spokeswoman for the Illinois-based heavy equipment manufacturer confirmed Thursday.

Caterpillar, as the Iowan scout said, is not a liberal organization. In fact, they aggressively campaigned against Obama. It appears, however, that even they realize that bigots are dying out and young people are taking their places.

Good for Caterpillar. As I have said many times on Strib comment boards, the US is rapidly realizing that the fear of homosexuals is anachronistic and illogical. It is interesting that many big companies are ahead of the public on this issue.

Kudos! As much as many protest and fight it, the fact is that the gay lifestyle is here to stay. Actually it was always there but in the shadows ~ now it's in the light.
