It is truly sad that these fine people have gone through so much but it has nothing to do with responsible gun owners or their rights. The Sandy Hook killings were committed by a deranged individual who planned the attack months ahead of time and broke numerous laws including murder before he got to the school. He is dead now and there is nobody left to punish. For all of us, particularly the families of the victims, it's a difficult reality. It's time to let go.

sharkyshark--If you had a child or loved one killed in a mass murder or any murder, you NEVER let go! The vacuum in the house is ever present and we should not allow this continued killing of innocent victims in the US. Another 5,000 people have been killed by guns since Sandy Hook! I guess you would want them to "let it go, also!"

Obama can meet with whoever he wants, but based on the Benghazi, IRS, NSA spying, AP phone records, and Rosengate, the U.S. public doesn't trust this administration at all. If he and the liberals thought the opposition to additional gun control was bad after Sandy Hook, there is going to be a huge backlash if he decides to open this one up again. I actually hope he does try because it's a great election issue to add to all the scandals.

In light of the news of the last few weeks where our government is compiling massive data on innocent citizens, more gun control is nothing more than a way to harass and intimidate those that commit no crimes while illegal activity is unaffected.

"responsible gun owners" don't fight changes that make gun owners responsible. Even simple universal background checks can't pass proving the opponents are not for "responsible gun ownership". The NRA wants criminals, terrorists and crazy people armed because every sale helps their corporate masters profits.

"This person cannot stop his campaigning"

the teleprompter and the "bully pulpit" both used by all presidents but for some reason are supposed to be off limits to Obama. But when you lack reason to be against an issue use ad hominem attacks.

"This person cannot stop his campaigning" the teleprompter and the "bully pulpit" both used by all presidents ******************** True, but this administration has taken it to new heights.

Russ99: you actually believe that the NRA wants criminals, mentally ill, and terrorists to have guns??? There are already background checks in place....criminals , mentally ill, and terrorists don't get their guns through legal means, and don't follow the laws to begin with....more laws will not prevent ANYTHING...the current laws are not even enforced, and you think new laws will work...
