We purchase power from East Central Energy and I definitely believe Great River's rates have to be the highest in the state if East Central's are any indication. Great River is made up of a bunch of coops who don't really care how much power costs. Our rates have jumped drastically the last couple of years and the reason range from we don't sell enough power to we waste too much power. All power companies should be required to put all financial information out to the public anytime its asked for. And No, they are not regulated by the PUC. I've asked for financial info many times and been told it's only given to board members.
