If he's nominated by Obama you better watch out. He only brings in those close to him and his beliefs-and those are not the ones we need in America.

If Mr. Grassley and Mr. Cruz want to play "prosecutor" in the committee hearings, so be it. But they should man up and let this nomiation get to the floor so they can vote No. But the dysfunction of the threat of a fillibuster rule with 60 votes needed for cloture is the way the Senate gets to talk loud and do nothing. It is time the ATF has a permanent director. Mr Jones has been nomiated. Let each Senator vote yes or no to comfirn this nonmination .

Based on what I heard yesterday he is completely unsuited to the position and should be removed from supervisory public service as soon as reasonable possible in any capacity. We might even investigate his past decisions in a special inquiry board sort of thing as well. This seems to be a decent example of one of the problems with "I was just following orders" rationalizers in public service and perhaps a few examples might encourage free and individual leadership to rise to the top.

I remember the way most americans felt about the head of the interior department and EPA during the Bush years. Absolutely no faith in what they did was complying with either law or our nations interest. Supporting this individual would assure americans that the AFT was now an agency run to attack our law and nation. We don't need that, we don't deserve it. Try again Mr. president and put the nation before your partisan ideology of destruction.
