It's certainly helpful to have people who love to work for an organization! That may help to motivate players to give their all, but they must also be smart, top athletes, team players, etc! Also the front office and coaches must not only be compatable but must be some of the best at their jobs!! Go Vikes!!!!!!!

I imagine the Kluwe supporters will be here before long. They'll have something to say about the supposed kinder, gentler atmosphere. Wait for it.

I believe the improved atmosphere is emanating from Coach Frazier. He's a class act and remember he's doing his class act under a one year contract, that many would view as an insult. But, he's above that. I hope he's our coach for a long time.

Tell it to Antoine Winfield. The way the organization handled that situation was the antithesis of professionalism.

This confirms for me why they let Percy Harvin go.

Sugarbrook, you hit the nail about as square as it could be struck. It takes a strong leader to show and give respect and yet get the respect that Frazier's getting in return. We learned about the attendance and enthusiasm at the OTA's after the team finished strong last year. I would have to add though that there has to be communication between Frazier and Spielman to make sure they do not take in the type of individuals that will create problems on this team. I have not read or heard however where Kluwe, Harvin, or Winfield were in any way problem for the Vikings so if they were I think that's just more of Frazier and the organization looking out for players even when they leave. Nobody got badmouthed when they left. It's a part of being a classy organization.

Nice column Jim.........feels like fresh air.

How come we normally read reports about these dysfunctional situations after the fact?

Frazier is old school cool. Had to get used to him, after the arrogance of Denny Green, the dopeyness of Mike Tice and the ignorance of Brad Childress. But I really think he's come into his own now and you can see the football mind from his playing days really come through when he talks about what he discusses gameplans and his players.

It helps a lot when the team exceeds expectations by making it into the playoffs. Let's see how happy-smiley everybody is when the Vikings aren't doing so great.
