Congratulations Twins and welcome Mr. Stewart! ***Stat alert*** Note that the 0.18 ERA is for a 7-inning high school game: (1 run / 40 innings) (7 innings / game) = 0.18 runs / game. This equates to a 9-inning ERA of (1 run / 40 innings) (9 innings / game) = 0.23 runs / game. Not bad.

Wait.....Not a pitch to contact guy? What is going on here, they must have plans to change that

He may be a good choice, except he is a high schooler, that might go to college and then maybe through another MLB draft. Hopefully he will sign, but maybe not...then what?!

I agree with 'callmestupid'...the Twin's coaches will destroy this guys potential. The Twin's coaches have no concept on how to coach a pitcher.

If Kohl is smart he would go to A&M where he will have a chance to start after next year when Johnny football is drafted first. He also has a chance to get drafted by a better organization in a year or 2. Why would anyone want to play for the Twins

If ur gonna draft a kid out of high school draft a position player, not a pitcher. If this kid pans out it will be 5 to 6 years before you hear his name. Way to big of a gamble when you take a HS pitcher.

Fact - Only 1 High School Pitcher drafted this high in the past 10 years has become a MLB Pitcher. With that said, I wouldnt expect any of them drafted in the past 5 years to have made it yet. But the 5 previous years and only 1 to do it makes you wonder if the MLB needs to re-think drafting high school players. Especially when you have 40 rounds. Statistics say that less than 7 percent of players drafted in rounds 21-40 actually make it to the MLB Level.

I hate to say this, what kind of draft is this? Come on, are we the fans willing to wait 5-6 years before this guy will make it to the major's. And just think, that is a big if. Why not draft at least the best college player, at least his guy would be able to play in the next 2-3 years!

Yeesshh, what a bunch of negative Nancys here. Baseball Draft is A crap shot-although last year's is looking pretty good for the Twins. Yes it might take him 5-6 years. Our best college drafted pitching prospects- Meyer and Gibson - have taken 2,3 years to get to AA,AAA (respectively). Although TJ surgery has slowed Gibson down. Point is College vs HS drafted get to majors at the same age approximately.
