Doctor, guide rescue baby moose from Montana river

A Pennsylvania doctor on a guided fishing trip in southwestern Montana went home with an amazing tale of hauling in a 25-pound lunker — a baby moose she helped rescue from a rushing river.

I'm so glad a) the calf lived and b) they returned it to Mom! I'm always worried when "rescued" baby animals are taken somewhere when not needed, and that the momma animal would be so panicked.

Perhaps we in Minnesota could save more moose if the DNR would stop killing them by tranquilizing them to put those obscene huge collars on them! Great story about the rescue.

Of course we need to collar the moose in MN. How else we going to know that a wolf might be killing them?
