March 3, 2000: Block E project will be good for Minneapolis and its taxpayers

Over a decade ago, Minneapolis identified Block E as the vital link in the Warehouse entertainment district and acquired and cleared the blighted, crime-ridden block.

How much money is being given to these businesses to start their profit making, expensive businesses that cater only to the wealthy? Would it be more benefecial for the general citizenry of the city to have a mix of local businesses and housing that do not depend on tax giveaways?

Typical of Strib comments. People who are obviously not from Minneapolis commenting on Minneapolis-specific issues. That said: Cherryhomes should be exempt from future public service based on Block E alone.
