A-Rod is on a mission to be more despicable than Barry Bonds (is that even possible?). His reputation as an arrogant cheater was already intact before these latest charges came along. Like Bonds, there should be no call to the Hall for this guy.

Either openly allow PEDs or void every contract and ban every offender for life. How many contracts were not deserved because of PEDs? And, yes, we must take another look into Baby Jesus' breakout MVP year.

I love baseball. At all levels. I'm not a superfan, but I pay attention and enjoy all levels. For the good of the game two things need to happen: 1. Bud Selig needs to be voted out of the commissioners office by the owners and replaced with someone with cajones. 2: For first time PED offenders, a 1 year suspension, including post-season play, along with fines equal to 75% of the player's annual salary for the rest of his career. Money is the only thing these guys will listen to.

To Julio57: Baseball cannot just unilaterally do what you propose. It must be negotiated. If there is a culprit here (and there is)it's the MLBPA, players union. If the majority of the union members do not support A-Rod and Co. let them get it in their contract language. Don't hold your breath.

Braun is a fraud. He is dirty as dirty comes and he has so far skated by PED allegations. Go ahead and thumbs down me brewer fans- high flyin Ryan got great on the juice and its hard to accept your hero is a zero.

Maurer? Steroids? That is the single most laughable assertion in the long history of,laughable assertions in this space.

julio57Jun. 4, 1311:44 PM

Ringneck1: You are absolutely correct that baseball cannot just unilaterally act in the ways I proposed. You are also correct that the MLBPA is the biggest culprit. My greater point was that with a strong commissioner who has the public's support along with the support of the vast majority of the owners, the commissioner will have all the power. The players MLBPA can threaten to strike, but they are in the middle of their CBA so if a new commissioner were to come in tomorrow with an iron fist the only thing the only issue they could argue with is PED testing and that is all they could use as leverage for a strike, which would be TERRIBLE PR for the players. They need to act now so when the current CBA expires PED testing isn't buried in financial negotiations.

I used to wonder how little Ryan Braun looks, (in a uniform on TV) but can jack homeruns like no other. Braun can lead the suspension parade! Great posts so far!
