This season is already in the toilet because the Twins are so cheap. Why would they bring Gibson up now and lose a year of control over his contract? They will wait to be sure he doesn't get Super Two status for early arbitration. How can you write this article and not bring this up? Leaving Gibson in Rochester is about money. How many pitchers never make the money they deserve because the collective bargaining agreement postpones their arbitration and free agency rights until their arm is injured?

I've never seen a guy coddling like this guy. Give him a chance at the next level and see what he can do. Can't get much worse up here.

He needs to show consistency and to this point he has not. I agree with TR, why rush him and ruin his confidence.

Why not learn in the bigs what it takes to win in the bigs? It certainly isn't going to matter how many he loses. This team is done.

There would not be the clamor to bring up Gibson, if the Twins had better starting pitching already playing for the Twins. I am certain that the money has something to do with not bringing him up, but it probably is better that he stays in the minors for most of the season. Remember, his is not that far out from his surgery. Most of the time it takes about 2 yrs to completely recover. Gibson will get his chance and hopefully be a quality starter for the Twins for a long time.

Give us a break, Terry. If you want consistency, take a look at Pelfrey.. 5 innings, 100 pitches, fastball always up.. 6 ERA. I like a good/bad consistency over an always bad consistency. THE REAL REASON THE KID IS NOT HERE IS $$$$.

I don't remember Diamond being consistent in the minors, nor Walters or Deduno. Ryan is pitching manure!

We just saw this identical article last weekend with Souhan. It appears to me we're getting Twin's "fluff" reporting here. "Oh, we really mean he's not ready". He's going to be 26 years old this fall. How many years do you have to hear about Gibson? Is there a better time than now? I'm pretty sure from looking and watching that there's room for him on the staff. Deduno seems to be learning at the Major League level. What's the difference? We aren't surrounded by Cy Young's on this team.
