Forget remediation plan, they need to talk forced retirement plan. What a relic.
Take out the word Catholic and put in Muslim and would be interesting to see how people would react. Nice double standard. He will be fired before tomorrow afternoon.
Everyone is missing the salient issue here; they make big money in football at these schools and do not pay the players.
Touchy, touchy, touchy! This political correctness will be our downfall! The truth hurts, and the quicker we realize it the better!
He should be fired. Such comments are not acceptable, regardless of what religion is being discussed.
Looks like someone is going to be perusing the wants ads pretty soon.
The comments were wrong to the extent that in his position he represents more than himself. He signed on (and is paid well) to carry the torch for the OSU. That said, the most intolerant people I can think of are modern American liberals/leftists. The thin skin that permeates so much of American culture today is a significant part of our downward spiral. I cannot imagine a scenerio in which this nation would have lead the world in technological, health and living advancements starting over 100 years ago had the present mindset of today's leftists been present.
Seems to me, when that path from the brain to the mouth turns into an unregulated freeway, it usually means the onset of some kind of dementia. Time for Mr. Gee to see a neurologist and have some tests done.
If he had made the remarks about people of color, women, homosexuals or perhaps a few religions, the outcry would be deafening and he would be fired. As it is, Catholics appear to be fair game.
Having attended a sister school of Notre Dame I think his comments are humorous. It would have been funnier if someone from Notre Dame had been there to retort in the same manner. He is referring to how they conduct business and football is certainly a business at Notre Dame, as well as at the Big Ten. These are not comments about a religion. His comments about Louisville and Kentucky are potentially offensive and more serious, especially if they are not true. Are they?
