This is why I gave to the Salvation Army. Many poor people on the coast suffered thoughout the winter & are still without heat and power while the RC sits on these funds.

We need to find a way to replace the Red Cross with an organization that actually cares about people rather than executive salaries. The folks who run the Red Cross are typical corporate fat cats.

My personal experience with disaster was that the Salvation Army was far and away the more helpful organization. The Red Cross was basically in the way.

Red Cross always seems to get top billing for disaster relief. I donate to Salvation Army instead and wish more would also.

How can we balance the expedition of funds while making sure they are used for their intended purpose. Seems we have not figured that out yet.
