Not a better man alive than Bud Grant....

Thanks again Bud Grant for being a great/winning Viking Coach. Enjoy the North Woods for the rest of your days.

Bud said it best, it will grow back, and it will be a great area for wildlife in a few short years. It's a shame, but nature controls so many things that humans can't stop. Glad his cabin/home didn't burn, he can watch the magical change of the new growth.

Grant's wisdom makes everyone who knows him or reads about him better.

On the bright side, after this story reaches enough people, 90% of the land owned in northern MN and WI will be offered up to Bud with invites to visit and use those properties.

Nature needs to renew itself & this is how that is accomplished. The area should come back stronger.

To bad the land wasn't in Minnesota. I'm sure the coach would have made the land an environmental easement and received its monetary value and the ability to hunt on it forever. Maybe the Lessard Council is trying to figure a way to do it. The coach deserves nothing less.

On the right side, Bud will likely get to see the full life cycle of that property within his life -- and he even got to enjoy the mature years while he was still young enough to embrace the full experience! Now he can sit back and watch the property quickly go from devastation to re-birth -- not a bad way to spend your latter years!

And on a side note, I hope at 86 I'm still spry enough to hop in a truck and head north a couple hundred miles to rake leaves when the feeling moves me!

Bud Grant the realist of all real men.
