So we can expect to Hendriks up here in a few weeks.. Whoopee.. Lynx, anyone?

Thank God we have Joltin Joe Mauer around to break up no hitters with a single. I'd say that's worth $24 million. I hope the other 8 batters in this offense were paying attention. When you have Jamie Carrol, a bench player, as your lead off hitter, I'd say you have some problems. 10 losses in a row? What do you expect, when half your team is from the farm system, some not even AAA level players? When you dredge the bottom of the barrel for bargain basement pitchers that nobody else wants? When most of your pitchers can barely touch 90MPH, and serve up meatball after meatball to the other teams best hitters? What do you expect when your managers only strategy is to swing away? No moving players over with a bunt, because nobody on the team can bunt. No hit and run, because most of the players can't hit. What do you expect when you have a catcher playing in the outfield, because you want his mighty bat in the lineup, his .217 BA, 3 home runs, and incredible 17 RBI's? First we blamed the ineptitude on the cold weather, despite most other teams facing similar conditions. Just wait until the weather warms up. Well, it's warmer, but the Twinkies are as cold as a spring day in Minneapolis. Right now, this team is hard to watch. Who knew the Twins under Bill Smith would be the good old days?

Gardy says he likes Arcia's fire but unfortunately he's in a bad stretch and needed to be sent down. Shouldn't that be the same standard for Gardy? How long does his 'bad stretch' have to be before he's shown the door? (Right now his bad stretch is going on two-and-a-half seasons).

So many other players are doing worse, lol the Twins are clueless. Thank you Jim Pohlad for being lazy and keeping the boring old status quo that hasn't been working for several years now.

hrbekmorneauMay. 25, 13 8:02 AM

This makes no sense. He's hitting better than BOTH Parmelee and Doumit, yet he gets sent down.

hrbekmorneauMay. 25, 13 8:03 AM

?! Arcia got sent down?! He was clearly one of the top 3 hitters on the team. This ship is going down HARD. What, Gardy has a bone to pick with him already? "Son, this is not how we do things here." Probably didn't like how he showed a little Latin flair after hitting his first homer. I thought it was AWESOME. Show a little excitement, eh? I didn't see the same panache out of him after HRs 2, 3, and 4. I WONDER WHY THAT IS. =\ Gardy needs to ride players who are getting OUT... not players who are hitting.

thome2011May. 25, 13 8:19 AM

Why does Gardy hate Arcia? Refuses to be a slap hitter? Actually hits for power?

sche47May. 25, 13 8:31 AM

Unbearable to watch is right. Hitters are forced to "work the count" Take strike one, foul off strike two and now...the pitchers best pitch that, oh yes, Twins hitters will chase. Great strategy!! Why work the count you say??? So we can get the starter out of there and face the middle relief guy that, now on most teams throws 96mph as well. Great strategy Gardy. Hey Bruno, loved you as a player but your boys are failing fast...ALL OF THEM!!! New manager, new coaches (and I won't even mention issues with Anderson) are due. Give us Twins fans something different to watch. PLEASE!!!!

hrbekmorneauMay. 25, 13 9:02 AM

Well working the count is good to do... they should work the count. It just doesn't have to necessarily be on the Ten Commandments.

skeptikMay. 25, 13 9:06 AM

Thank the baseball gods where ever they are. The Twins are finally bringing up Walters and sending down Arcia. These moves should herald the "turn around" the Team has been waiting for. Start printing the World Series tickets and send out a memorandum to the season ticket holders that those bargain basement ticket prices will be going up next year. Hop on the bandwagon folks the Twins are starting to roll.
