Bob's birthday is being celebrated by both cities from his North Country roots, one of which could ultimately wind up with a museum in his honor. But which one?

Although I'll bet he'd dismiss the idea out of hand, Bob Dylan is basically a national treasure. Give him a museum in both towns.

His body of work is just stunning and the fact that he's basically been on a never ending tour since 1998 just speaks volumes of his talent. This guy loves to play...

Liverpool England has treated the Beatles much better than Hibbing has treated Bob Dylan. The Beatles embrace Liverpool and Liverpool embraces them.Does Dylan embrace Hibbing? It has to be more than economic benefit for Hibbing.

If they built a museum for Bob, one of the most important and prolific innovators in the history of music, I would readily make the trip to Duluth and/or Hibbing from out here in CA ..

Oh, come on! Dylan left Dultuh when he was 6 years old -- he hadn't even tasted school paste or learned to tie his shoes yet. All his schooling and impressions of life occurred in Hibbing. Why in the world would a museum be built in Duluth? In Hibbing, people can see the house he grew up in where he went to school, and the stage he performed on. Don't worry about the number of tourists -- people from all over the world come to Hibbing every year because of Dylan. After they visit the Hibbing museum, people can drive to Duluth to see its many tourism attractions -- and the house where he lives for 6 years.

My dad saw him play in high school in Hibbing in the late 50's. He said the kids basically laughed him off stage. Like my dad says, "Dylan laughs all the way to the bank when he thinks about Hibbing".

Between the ages of 10-18 he ran away seven times- only returned to Hibbing six.

Ask Bob what he thinks. I'm betting that he would just roll his eyes and chuckle.

This is what towns do, build museums only to have a pair of ruby red slippers stolen from it. Judy Garland was born in Grand Rapids but left when she was only four. Yup 4 years old.
