Hey, that's better than a can of Sterno, a cheese cloth and a couple ice cubes in your cheek...............especially on Sundays when liquor stores are closed.
I strongly suggest buying the Dewars, Chevis Regal, McCallum's at a regular liquor store and enjoying your Scotch at home. Scotch was my favorite drink, too.
How exactly did they think they were going to get away with that?
It sounds like the famous scotch-making scene in "Mister Roberts". It was funny in a fictional play/movie, but the thought of doing it for real is pretty scary.
It doesn't say much for the drinkers if they couldn't tell the difference between good scotch and brown rubbing alcohol.
If you're ordering a name brand Scotch or other name brand whiskey, you'll likely know at first sip that you're not getting what you paid for.
It's happened to me at a chain sports/wings bar in the past, but only once. I won't go back.
Stick with single malt and you'll never have the ole switch-a-roo pulled on you.
Sounds like what Delta recently started doing at their Sky Club. Replaced complimentary premium liquor and beer and replaced with Gordons and Bud/Lite.
Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)? That stuff is toxic and potentially fatal, even in small amounts! There's a reason it says "For external use only" on the bottle!
