The question that needs to be asked...."will the lakes that get the tax-payer funded stocking allow exclusive harvest rights to one group as well? Or will harvest of these fish be on equal access by all--not one group that can spear or gill-net the fish without any sound modern day reasoning or need?"

Walleye Pro-duction Plan? You mean stronger regulation? Better not say that word. Who needs regulation and provisions over the current walleye populations when you can spend lots of money and produce more. Of course, he is not a man of long-term planning and action but rather, short term production.

Given there is a 2-3% survival rate on stocked walleye, I think they better get into the severals millions with their goal. Boasting an increase to 500,000 stocked fish means fishermen will have 15,000 additional catchable walleye in 3-4 years, spread among a couple hundred lakes I assume. Big deal.
