I actually think that the Wolves moved up from 3 to 2 two years ago in the lottery. Of course, they created their own bad luck by drafting Williams who has never come close to his potential.

It sure is a much better feeling knowing that a true basketball guy is in charge instead of that imposter. I have faith in Flips opportunity to get a player.

medas2005 - The Wolves had the worst record in 2010-11, so we actually slid down from 1 to 2 that year which ended up being the D. Williams pick.

medas2005 the story is correct that the Wolves have never improved their draft status. They had the worst record in the League that year at 17-65, Cleveland was next at 19-63 & won the lottery to draft Kyrie Irving. The odds of them not improving their draft position in 17 chances of the lottery are pretty incredible. Isn't it amazing how Chicago has 5 of 1000 chances & somehow wins the Derek Rose lottery & yet many times we've had a 25% chance & don't win? Put it out in public David Stern so we can all see that it's NOT rigged.

I love Flip's idea to send Kevin Love as the team's representative to the lottery. Kevin Love is our franchise player. Let's make him feel like one.

Its not only the bad luck in the draft as far as positioning, but the players this never drafted when they had the opportunity could make up an all star roster. One example Johnny Flynn instead of Steph Curry.

the break we need isn't what # we draft at but whom we draft. the wolves have had only 3 good picks in the 1st round: kg, love, and rubio. we all know the sad list of wasted picks/players far outweighs the 3 good picks we've had. kahn being gone is a good step in getting the right guy, and having adelman's system in place (assuming he returns) also helps. i'd like to see us improve our scouting, and therefore, our drafts.

It's highly likely that whoever the Wolves draft won't contribute much this year anyways. This team needs to develop players in the market they are in, but this coming up season is not going to be about rebuilding. The team is going to be competing for a playoff spot. The main move the Wolves need to make besides signing Pek is adding size and athleticism at the guard spot. Even if the Wolves draft a shooting guard they need to move either JJ or Luke for a guy who can guard the long and athletic wings of the NBA.

Just tell Klove not to punch the table when the wolves fail to move up, yet again.

I would bet a bag of balls the Wolves fall to either the 11th or 12th pick.
