Minnesota lost 11,400 jobs in April

The state’s employers added jobs over the past year at a slower rate than the rest of the nation, an unwelcome shift from previous reports.

When the jobs numbers are up, the Strib puts the story at the top of the page, when they are down the Strib puts it on the bottom of the page.

Is it a coincidence that we starting losing all these jobs about half way through the dfl controlled legislative session? They talked about tax increases from the beginning but when did they start to really push them?

The fact that trucking is down is pretty scary. Trucking is a very good indicator of what is going on with the economy. When people are buying things, anything, there is freight to be moved. Manufacturing isn't as good of an indicator since it could just mean we are buying things made somewhere else. Remember, if you have it, a truck delivered it.
