It's a sad commentary that we have to lease our historic buildings in order to save them. We now are such a low tax state and nation we cannot save historic structures unless we find privatized education to bring their money to bear to revitalize one of the most historic sites in Minnesota. Depending on how extensive/evasive the remodelling is, we may lose some of the history of the site. I'm not adverse to this type of use but it seems it is continuum of selling off our public assets because we are too afraid to pay for them. The fake panic over out national debt and the completely wrong headed need to balance the budget in a time of economic recession and unprecedented low interest has gone hand and hand with the effort to privatize or destroy effective areas of government such as the postal service. I have little faith in today's DNR to manage anything until they actually appoint a commissioner that values our historic environments and ecology.

Enviromental? Really? How about history focus or training on restoration or economics of poor government that was asked to lease these buildings 40 years ago and refused? How about a school that deals in truth rather than half-truths?

supervon2-How about learning something about the school before meandering off on an ill informed rant?
