Why doesn't Richfield join the Minneapolis Conference? Short bus rides. They are next to Minneapolis. Competitive Conference Also, why doesn't St. Louis Park join our Conference? Someone please answer my question.

jaynedrake, Did those schools receive invitations to join? Is the Mpls. City Conference interested in either school? Now that is the question to ask.

I guess all that posturing to 'kick out' STA went for naught! The STA AD may actually have it right though. STA, HM, Cretin etal really don't change that much demographically. Their student demographic decade over decade is primarily multi-generational. Families / extended families who attended the school and people who move to the TC who attended similar schools (either private or religious/denominational schools) growing up. I do agree that schools such as Richfield, St. Louis Park, Robbinsdale and Columbia Heights might do well to explore a merger with the Minneapolis City Conference.

Wow what a joke, this move has nothing to do with fair competition. It is being driven by jealously of the AD at Sibley & Simely. They are using STA's success in Football and Hockey to hide their real reasons. If you look at the conference as a whole STA hardly dominates. Hill has move victories in Hockey, Baseball, Basketball etc... then STA. Look at wrestling, see who dominates there not STA. I guarantee that if you added all the victories in every sport for every team in the conference STA would not be at the top. There are other reason for this move and they are shameful reasons. Bigotry and hatred!

Why doesn't STA opt out of the Classic Suburban Conference for football and hockey and apply to play those sports in the Lake Conference? It would be a win/win for all. STA gets to compete against great competition in sports they dominate in the Classic. Keep the Classic Suburban for all the rest of the sports.

notforjoeigh - STA initiated a home and home series with Edina a few years ago in football. They played STA at Gerry Brown stadium and got humiliated. Edina then backed out of their end of the home and home the next year. So STA tried to initiate a relationship with Lake Conference ... it didn't go anywhere.
