TV anchor signs off gracefully
Vineeta Sawkar was the best anchor KSTP had.
The morning news was lucky to have her.
If you look at who the TV stations are hiring now they seem to look like teenagers.
I wish Vineeta Sawkar the best.
Vineeta is a class act, and was one of the main reasons I ever watched Eyewitness News on 5. You always knew you were going to get a really good newscast when she was there.
Chalk up another execution for Hubbard Broadcasting. Why do people go to work there? I never watch KSTP because of the way they treat people. A pox on their house.
She's so classy; I always enjoyed her for both her substance and style, a notch above typical TV news. Wish her the best and know her next employer will be lucky to get her.
Vineeta's warmth radiates right through the screen. I hope she lands another local anchor job anywhere other than FOX 9.
Well, there goes another morning ritual disrupted. First I quit my morning coffee and now I learn KSTP5's best morning news anchor is leaving. Almost more than a man can take. Vineeta Sawkar was rated number one in our household and her job of presenting the news was forthright and honest. Like a previous reply stated, we hope she lands a local anchor position, BUT at Fox 9 because that will be our new morning news show! Sorry KSTP 5, bad move.
Vineeta is a true professional. I often wondered why she wasn't on the evening news. She's miles ahead some of these other anchors. Spot on about her being warm over the air and classy. I hope she finds a local job, they would be lucky to have her.
It's not difficult to understand why KSTP continues to drop in the ratings. They seem to have a form-over-substance policy. The management prefer entertainment over actual news.
I want news, not fluff. I suspect that other viewers do as well.
Maybe she wasn't sensationalistic enough for management. Best wishes to Vineeta.
It's a tough business. She will be missed and KSTP will continue to be a revolving door. The Hubbards' has not found a way since Ron Majors left (you can see why)to create any magic on that station. WCCO is my choice once again. Mike and Angela are KSTP rejects so, I believe she will end up on the air somewhere. KSTP needs to look deep within and find its soul again. They lost over 25 years ago.
