Featuring a lineup of no less than 5 All-Stars (Backstrom, Koivu, Parise, Suter, Heatley) for the entire season, Yeo valiantly leads the team to an 8th place finish and first round exit. Yet somehow this clown gets to keep his job? Wow, where can I sign up to work for the Wild?

Leipold is a clueless owner. Hires rookies GM, coaches and invests way too much on 2 players knowing the salary cap is being lowered. Why is Fletcher smiling. He pulled of his Leddy #2 trade this year that resulted in the Wild giving up 4 prospects for a middle ages 2nd or 3rd line winger whose contract expires next year. Fletcher should go. Fletcher used Richards as a scapegoat a couple of years ago, and now it is time for Fletcher to face the music. But again....we have a clueless owner.

Hey, don't they have two amnesty clauses due to the CBA? Really they don't have a lot of cap space? Heatley you could buy out and save $7.5mil of cap space and you have one left. Then waive Koivu who is almost making as much as Parise and save another $6.8mil. That is $14.3mil in cap space right there.

dlzabz.....read the article...you cant buy out injured players and who you gonna get to coach???another retread...Guys are just recycled in the NHL..give Yeo a full offseason and camp....It's the depth of the personnel not the coach.

safe? until Liepold starts getting sick and embarassed by losing...maybe then they'll be a shakeup...I really don't think Yeo will get any better...lacks what it takes to be a winning coach in the NHL..but they'll find that out eventually..

Yeo is the wrong guy for the job. He just doesn't know what he's trying to do here.

As I said last night, this team needs to buy out Koivu. It must rid itself of this false illusion that this guy's a "superstar" and shed its four-year responsibility to him. This is PRECISELY what the amnesty clause was designed for--guys like Mikko that have contracts they don't warrant. Does ANYONE actually expect Mikko to get better? Wasn't this season proof enough that he's NOT a #1 center or a captain. And to have Yeo back telling us how Mikko "does all the little things well" game after game. Ugh!

So they are stuck with Heatley and no I didn't read past page 1 of the article so my apologies but 7.5mil in cap space is a lot to leave on page 2. They still can throw Koivu on waivers and save $6.8mil which is about double what a center his talent is making. I'd rather throw money at Cullen and Derek Roy than Koivu making $6.8mil a year.

Cullen and/or backstrom won't be back unless they are willing to play for about $2.5M and that is not likely. PMB is likely not to come back so that opens up about $14M between the 3 but the cap is falling. They need a power forward leftwing in the worst way and Morrow will most likely be available so that may work along with a veteran goalie who will play for $3m or less. Mason is a good enough goalie coach to get a veteran retread to play well until Kuemper or the kid from Europe are reasdy to take over. Gotta love what Josh Harding was able to do but he is a real wildcard with his physical condition. Kenopka and Rupp are not the answer either and Matt Kassian should never have been traded as he can at least skate well enough to stay with the play at the NHL level, plus he was coming on as a player and only 26 years old too. We actually need 2 more power forwards to fill in the top 3 lines so we can have one on each line as Coyle can fill in that role on one line. If you watched Detroit tonight you will notice they scored 3 goals, all of which were screened. The Wild desparately needs a couple of more bigger tougher power forwards to play in the paint and improve team toughness too. Skating 2 tough guys on the 4th line, who can't play regular shifts is a killer as no one is going to bother dancing with either one of them in the playoffs. There is also about a half dozen or more guys who need to know where the weight room is this summer and how to eat right too as they need to put on about 10-15 pounds of muscle this off season. Heatley may be gone too after he is cleared healthwise as his best days are behind him also. It is possible that the Wild could end up taking a step backwards this next year before moving forward again ?? Let's see what the magician(Fletch) can do this off-season to keep that from happening.
